Default How Many Applications Do You Have On Your Pocket PC

In the thread where we are talking about what is installed on our Pocket PCs, Duncan suggested a poll to see just how many apps we had on our devices. So, count 'em up! Don't include ROM based apps or what should be ROM based, like Reader or WMP on a 1910 or upgraded 3600. You can include upgrades though, like WMP 7 on a Pocket PC 2000 device since that didn't come with the device. Don't forget to include apps you didn't install per se, like ClearTemp, which is just an EXE that resides in your Start Up folder.

Hmmm....I have over 50 apps installed on a device that is supposedly underpowered and doesn't have enough RAM. The XDA..."The little PPC that could"

Whoa! Only 42. But before the upgrade to ROM 2.20, I had ~70 apps.

I have returned from the edge.

I voted for 21-30 but I forgot about Fitaly and Launcher which would bump me up into the 31-40 range. :microwave:

EDIT: Oops forgot 2.

Im at 43 apps. I'm guessing the built in apps don't count so I will leave them out:

Top 4 on my PPC:
  • Resconet file explorer 3.9x (I won't go to 4 until I'm 100% certain it will work with PPC.NET or whatever they call it.)
  • Pocket Informant 3.2.1 (Again waiting until I'm 100% certain that 4 will work on PPC.NET but in the case of PI they are good about rapidly updating their software if it isn't)
  • Nicestart 2.0
  • Pelmar WISBAR
  • Peacemaker Pro
  • Cleartemps
  • Ipaq Overclock from Jimmysoft
  • Pocket Tools 2.0 (Free software that is the rough equivalent of the Windows Task Manager.)
  • RegKing
  • PHM Device Manager (You can't remove devices but there is something nice about having the same feature found on the PC on your PPC as well.
  • PHM Reg Editor (A must have for anyone who likes to tweak their PPC
  • ProgramMenu
  • JogButton
  • Powertap
  • Nydidtot 1.2
  • Remote Display Control (PPC Toy)
  • VXUtil
  • PocketDHCP
  • PocketCounter
  • TempMeasure (Yes I admit it. I suck at converting F to C. So :razzing:
  • Journal Bar
  • Battery Bar
  • Pocket Slides
  • WithMP3 (Greatest PPC MP3 player around)
  • Pocket DIVX
  • Pocket TV (Free version. No way Im spending 50 bucks on any PPC software.)
  • Palm Reader Pro (All hail Palm Reader. Down with MS Reader!)
  • Flash Player
  • Pocket NES
  • SimCity 2000
  • Warring States
  • Chopper Alley
  • Snowed In
  • Packman (Full version from the Original CD MS sent out in the funpack)
  • Cubicle Chaos
  • Office Inspirations
  • CodeWallet (ver that came with the Jornada 568)
  • PoQuickPro 1.0 (Not as useful as I was hoping but for a buck it does its job well.)
  • PocketTime
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • MS Pocket Streets (From MapPoint 2002)
  • IA Album 1.2
  • VBirthday

All I can say is god bless the person who invented external storage.

PS- If you want to find a REALLY fast way to fill up your RAM go to www.ipaqsoft.net and browse the free software listed there. You will be out spending money on a new SF or SD card within an hour.

I "only" have a little over 40 apps. The PPC can carry so much information, and so many cool little utilities. I get an excuse to play with it several times every day. It's not one toy, but many toys.
