Get Rid of Those Today-Screen Plug-ins
This is a very simple app with a very simple function: it disables Today-screen plug-ins, and remembers which ones were active for quick reactivation. Useless to most people, but I know a few of you uber-geeks will scream "This is just what I've been looking for!" when you read this.

Example of Uses?
I profess to not being an uber-geek (at least amongst the brethren on this site), it does sound interesting but I'm at a loss for its use. The web site doesn't say much about it. Anyone that has an interest, I'm curious about your need for it and would love to here it?

1. Possibly you have a theme you want to look at without any Today plug-ins. It's a lot faster to use this little app then using the Today control panel applet.
2. Disabling the Today plug-ins frees some system memory really quickly. Not all of the memory used by the plug-ins becomes available, but certainly some CPU cycles are saved and some memory is saved. Comes in handy, particularly when installing software.
3. My favorite is to disable the active Today plug-ins and then enable an animated theme afterwards, just for a pretty picture on my desktop. No Plugins only disables the plug-ins present when used. Again, just a quick way to do something I'm too lazy to do the hard way.

Thanks...makes a little more sense! I don't have a lot of use myself but I may just give it a try to see for myself. I am such the software whore, think that's half the reason I have the PPC  . I know that Handango sure loves me!

I think this sounds really neat. I'm often torn between looking at the pretty picture or actually having something useful on the screen. And my record button isn't doing anything now, so this will be a good use for it.

"uber" actually comes from the german word "ber", meaning "above".
you can get that small "u" with the two dots above it by holding the "alt" key and typing "128" on the keypad.
just in case anyone without a german layout keyboard wants to write it correctly

Ehhh... And it comes out after how long???
I've been editing the registry of my Pocket PC deleting those Today Items to free up resources... some plug-ins just consume so much resources even if you don't really use them...
