Default OzMiniBar v2

http://bwphoto.dns2go.com/oztech/index.html

Bob S pointed us in the direction of OzMiniBar. This program combines a task switcher, application launcher, control applet viewer and battery / memory meter. The user interface of this program looks different than most of the programs out there, and looks great to me.

You can get OzMiniBar at Handango [affiliate link]. I haven't used the program myself, so I can't say how well it works. Does anybody of you have any experience with it?

Looks like this might be a nice alternative to Battery Pack and the like--for those of us who don't like to clutter up the Today screen and prefer seeing our chosen themes unobstructed by all those icons.

Default Program will not start after installation

Hi,

I installed the trial, into the default directories on my iPaq 3650, and on executing the program I got a 'Cannot find 'OzMiniBar' (or one of its components)....' error. Does the program need another dll to be installed before it can run?

Also I noticed the default installation point was the WINDOWS directory, I would much prefer it to be installed in a OzMiniBar directory under Program Files as the default.

From the screenshots it looks like the programmer had a Macintosh... Very nice look.

Regards,

PJE

The program is nice. However, it would be even nicer if you had the ability to order the program shortcut icons manually.

If you have the AT&T Siemens, O2, or t-mobile ppc phone edition you may want to stay away from this app. Twice now, this app has resulted in screwing up my device. After installing it you'll have sound issues and WMP will not work anymore. I emailed the author and he said it was because of a install of a file called gw.dll. During install it gives you the option to overwrite the existing file and I said no but still had issues. Even if that was the issue, when the file was deleted during uninstall the problem should have gone away but did not. There is definitely a problem with something in the registry after installing this app on these devices.

Default Speed?

8O

I used this some time ago and found that when used in conjunction with Dashboard my PPC slowed to a crawl occasionally. The OZ bar would slide out quite jerkily. I see that the release date from Handango is Oct 30 so this may be a newer version. Anyone seen the jerky behavior with Dashboard?

Default OzMiniBar Problems

I liked the looks of this application and tried it. However, I decided it not to use it and tried to uninstall it. Now I keep getting error messages every time I start my iPaq. The author's website doesn't seem to work anymore and he doesn't respond to my email. Any suggestions??

if you are referring to an error message when soft resetting the device.....
then go into file explorer, go to windows/startup and you will find a shortcut for OZ there, remove that link.

After I have uninstalled OzMiniBar, whenever I turn the device on, first I receive a box that says "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename" - I have to tap 'OK' - this is followed by a Notification Error box with the message ' Cannot execute "\Windows\Start\Menu\OzMiniBar.lnk" - I have to tap OK. There is no shortcut for Oz in the Windows/Startup folder!?!? Any help appreciated!
