Dude! The specs on the Dell PDA are here!
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=5644
The specs on the Dell Pocket PC are in if this article is correct. This device seems a bit heavier and thicker than I would have suspected, but it seems to have integrated CF and SD slots, so maybe the size isn't too far out of line. Also has integrated bluetooth. Given these specs, I don't see this as a $299 PDA, but now that ViewSonic has entered with a $300 device, the Pocket PC seems to have the mid-level to high end market covered. Sorry, no pics yet. It could launch as soon as November 5.
Weight: 6.5 oz Thickness: 0.7" thin Look: Silver with rubber sides, jog dial Display: 240x320 pixel screen Memory: 64Mb Expansion: CF and SD slots Connectivity: IRDA, Bluetooth and WiFI via CF slot Music: MP3 player and universal remote control software Energy: Removable battery (hi capacity option) Holder: USB cradle (with spare battery charging slot) Batteries: Batteries are 1440mwh and 3400mwh
Seems like a great power user device. If they are anything under $500, this will put all PDA makers on notice: Dell is in the PDA market! Source: Jaxbulls

Wonder if it..
I wonder if it has SD I/0. I can get by without the tft screen. Although I would prefer a Ipaq size screen. Hmm..time to find a buyer for my 3835.
Knowing Dell..They'll sell these things cheap. Hopefully $299!

Maybe no bluetooth built in...

Which can also be parsed as including IRDA but Bluetooth and WiFi are via the CF slot.

Very true. We'll have to wait for more details.

Why the picture
I know it fits the story, but do we really need the picture of Steven on the front page of the site? I spend enough time flipping channels trying to avoid that moron. At least he isn't speaking here, and that is good.

IF i remember correctly, this is going to be a sub-$300 device, I can't find the link, but The Reg and a couple of other pages were touting Dell was targeting the lower-end markets.
