Default Whats next for the iPAQ Pocket PC?

http://ipaqpocketpccanada.com/features/whatsnext.htm

iPAQ Pocket PC Canada.com has published an article that collects the various rumours, photos, and facts on the future of the iPAQ, then throws in some speculation for good measure. It's a tasty brew, so if you'd like a good overview of what's coming down the pike from our friends at hp, give this article a read.

"The H38000 series is surely on its way out of the door with the introduction of the new H3900 series. Why some of you may ask? Simple, the H3900 series is a better H3800 series and going with the life span of past iPAQ series (most models have been around for 1 year before being discontinued); the H3800 series is almost there at the end of its life span.

There was a recently published article on the Pocket PC Summit in Philadelphia where an HP rep gave a presentation. One of the points iterated was assuring the audience that the expansion pack system would be around for about 3 years. We believe that this would coincide with the life span of the H3900 series which could be around for that length of time along with two new series: the iPAQ 2200 and 5000 series."

Yeah. I saw that this morning.

I had pretty much accepted that fact that when i finnaly get a pocket pc cell phone that I will still have to keep my Toshiba e740. None of the current pocket pc phone editions can even measure up to it.
If the rumors are even somewhat true this could be a replacement for my pocket pc and cell phone. But probably not.

Problem is I don't want to wait and see.. I what a pocket pc phone NOW! :bad-words:

Hi to All,

I'm going to say it again Toshiba e740 is the best, nothing that compaq will get out the door is going to change that, not even the ipaq 5000 (i don't have a cell phone and i don't need one, i like to relax when i'm not at work).

People have said that the corporate world uses COMPAQ, show me where, all the place i went to they are using palm. If they were to use a pocket pc, it would be a toshiba e740 because of the price and integration. the fact that the economy is very down in the US (more then in Canada my native land) and also in the europe, has caused company to buy less expansive device (toys). You'd thing that common senses would be to buy a ipaq 5000 at $800 vs a e740 at 400$. Do the math, that product will never work.

just my two cents ...
