infoSync reviews Nokia 7650

Speaking about smartphones in general, infoSync has released a great review of the Nokia 7650. This Symbian based smartphone will go head-to-head in the market with the SmartPhone 2002 designs. The Nokia 7650 includes Bluetooth, MMS, a camera, PIM, in short: the works. The specs look really impressive, and this is from the people with a zillion years of experience in designing cool phones. But... still it seems to be hard, even for Nokia, to design a perfect smartphone. Because although J�rgen likes what he sees, he expresses his doubts about the limited RAM, battery life and the speed of synchronization.

I totally agree with the RAM view - it really isn't enough for the 'Power User' (not even enough to store any decent amount of music). Even though the excellent software that is already on the market for the 7650 is able to bypass this without compromising on quality, I still think that most people will want to wait for the SonyEricsson P800 which has the features to make it the must have phone of this year, next year and maybe even the year after.
As for syncing, most people only connect their device to a PC in order to install software since their primary PIM device is the mobile device. This isn't a problem for the 7650 (if it follows the Symbian trend) where the Setup file (called a .SIS file) is run on the device with no need for the PC. However, slow syncing is one of the few areas where Symbian could improve (but it is reliable - if somewhat reliably slow :lol: )
That said though, the review is fair and I have to say that the phone is very, very sexy (that analogue clock looks so cool!). At a half-decent price, it's well worth a look.

I know - it's a shame isn't it! Though the many 7650 owners who are out there can buy one from the plethora of 7650 software that is already available.
I won't be getting one - as I said, the P800 will be the best smartphone on the market for some time to come.
