Default HP Jornada 928 will see the light of day

http://www.infosync.no/news/2002/n/2000.html

"The Jornada 928, for long facing an uncertain future has now been confirmed as launching in Europe later this summer. Oh, and you'll be able to chat with it too, courtesy of Fonix." Fonix will provide speech recognition so you can speak commands to the device to launch applications or get information. It will also include a text-to-speech (TTS) program. Given the RAM and processor speed of the WDA, I'll really be curious to see how well the TTS app works.

Thanks to DaltonTheDoberman for the heads up.

RAM: 64 MB is not enough?
Processor: "Texas Instruments' OMAP platform on which the Fonix speech technology can be integrated is specifically aimed at wireless processing to deliver voice and multimedia enhanced applications for 2.5G and 3G wireless phones, PDAs, and other advanced mobile Internet appliances." It's not the MHz that says it all, it's the technology used in this specific chipset that enables this feature.

But all in all, I'm just as curious as you about the speed of this thing.

Ok, no more posts for me until I've had a cup of coffee. ops: You are right. With that setup, my Timex watch has enough MHz to process it.
