Default Amazing Advertising!

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/index.html?tag=nav-top;ps3

Check out this amazing XBox 360 advertising on this PS3 story. I wonder how much Microsoft paid for that!

I wonder *how* they pulled it off. 8O
Did gamespot know the buyer was MS? Or did they go through a third party?

Considering the mediocre-to-worse reviews most of the PS3 games are getting, this is a singularly good place to advertise. An evil, evil, thing to do, but kinda cool to pull off.

"Counting coup", I believe its called...

A few quotes from the Gamespot headlines on the page:

"Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is an unremarkable hack-and-slash game whose most noteworthy feature seems to be that it's coming out at the launch of the PS3."

"Blast Factor has some exciting moments and offers a unique twist on a familiar formula, but it still ends up feeling generic and forgettable."

"Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire is a lazy attempt to bring the Gundam license to the PlayStation 3, and it's a disappointment in almost every way."

"the PS3 version of Madden NFL 07 is a very good football game that doesn't quite live up to the full potential of the latest console hardware. And while the game looks and plays quite good on the PS3, the added Sixaxis control support isn't really that impressive, nor are the visuals all that much better than what the 360 version offered back in August. "

"Electronic Arts CEO Larry Probst says Sony shipped only 200,000 PS3s for US launch, expects up to 800,000 in stores this year."

"Sony shuffles senior execs"

"Namco: 500,000 PS3 games required for profit"

"PS3 system updated to 1.11"

"No shipments today.. so maybe Friday Shipments..?"

"eBay: almost 15K PS3s auctioned off in first week
Popular online auction Web site says 14,675 PS3s were sold for an average price of just under $1,200; Wiis go for an average of $412. "

Now, add in the XBOX ads all over the place.
Try not to hurt yourselves laughing, folks...

The buy-out must've ended.
They're back to normal PS3-centric ads, mostly for...Gundam: Crossfire.

Oh, and this lil bit of !!!! controversy:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6162560...stnews;title;0

I agree that it is too early to be talking of "no PS4 ever...", but that such a topic is even floated...?

At what point does even Sony deserve some pity?
