HTC Release Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade for the s620
T-Mobile managed to get the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade out for the Dash quickly. That left all of us s620 users holding our device in our hand wondering if HTC had skipped the release for us. It took a little time, they managed to release it to HTC e-Club members (membership is free, but you must own the s620 to download the ROM). It looks like they have included the Yahoo Go! client in the ROM. I'm curious to see if it preforms better now that it's hard wired into the device versus the installed version that so many people had problems with. Head on over to the HTC c-Club site and register so you can download the ROM. Then report back in this thread and let us know how the upgrade went for you. I'm getting ready to head out for the long weekend so I won't be able to flash my device until Tuesday. I'm looking forward to catching up with the Dash owners.

upgrading S621 to WM6 with Rogers
I'm with Rogers Wireless, by doing this upgrade will it cause any problems with my phone, because the update is not coming from rogers directly???

Hrm, I don't think you should be installing this on the Rogers version. That phone is the s621. You could try, but I'm certian it's not supported by Ted and the gang.
Now that I think about this a little more. If you register on eClub and it's offered for your model, then it shouldn't matter. Can you see it on eClub?

I have downloaded it and upgraded with no problem other than having to go and get the latest versions of everything and reinstalling. Well worth if though.
Can not find Office (Excel, Word etc). Still only have the Clearvue applications in a folder called office. Anyone else has similar issue ?

They are reporting the same thing on the XDA Developers Forums too. Users have posted a download which adds Office back.

Well that sucks. Office is part of WinMo6, but the carrier/manufacturer has the choice if they want to include it or not. I guess that HTC has decided not to pay the extra license fee for Office without the sale of a new device. It's included in all of their new Smartphones.

Finally! I have been waiting for this, but I am unable to sign up for e-Club, I have been trying for a while now and they never send me the email to activate my account. Any help guys? I'm dying for this update.

Well this sucks - I can't get the update to install. Isn't this thing Vista-compatible? When I got to the stage where it tries to update it tells me it can't communicate with the device. It says ERROR 202: CONNECTION.
[checks a few things]
Ok, so in order to get this installed on Vista I had to right click on the installer, select properties, and run it in XP SP2 Compatibility mode - I also checked "Run as an administrator" just to be on the safe side.
Seems to be installing ok now...
[tries to run the installer]
Ok, so it didn't work. It now says ERROR [244]: INVALID MODEL ID. I'm trying to update my T-Mobile Dash with this HTC build because the T-Mobile build is buggy. Crap.

I remembered reading someplace about the various ROM installers not liking Vista so I just swapped to my XP hard drive. The install was very smooth and only took a few minutes to complete.
I also grabed the Office CAB files that were linked on XDA Developers but I haven't installed it yet.
Otherwise the ROM seems really good. I am looking forward to hammering it a bit over the next few days.

I got the email yesterday, so I think their system is working. Checked your spam folders/filters? You won't find anyone offering you a link in these forums, sorry - you need to get the update from HTC.
