Skweezer Provides Optimized Web Access for Orange Dominicana
"Orange World is a mobile Internet portal that provides Orange Dominicana's 850,000-plus customers with access to Web content, such as news and sports scores, from their mobile phones and PDAs. A private-label version of Skweezer has been integrated into this portal so that Orange customers will be able to browse off-portal and visit nearly any site on the Internet, whether it's mobile-friendly or not. The Skweezer technology used by Orange includes a configurable search module that allows Orange to choose which regionally relevant search engines they want their customers to use."
Skweezer has just gone from providing web pages to end users who opt into their service, to providing optimized pages for anyone customer of Orange Dominicana. I think this is a great idea, and something all carriers should look into doing. It's much easier for the carrier to implement a mobile optimization engine for all their customers, than everyone having to sign up for a different service. I wonder which carrier will be next to do this?
