The Evil Google Shows it's Face
I hadn't really been following this Google CNET spat. That is until today, when for some reason, I clicked on an article from Google News (ironically enough). It's pretty interesting stuff. In case you have been following things, here is a link to the Wired News story.
Basically, Google has decided not to talk with CNET for 1 year because CNET added a little extra umph to their story by Googling Googles CEO Eric Schmitt and adding some extra information like net worth and whatnot to their story. I can understand they would be upset, but all that information is public record. It's not like Eric is Joe Programmer or something. He's CEO of a publicly traded company, and as such his salary, stock options, and estimated net worth is pretty much public record.
Anyway, this looks like it's turning into a nasty public relations problem for the search giant. They had a pretty clean record until now.
Has anyone else read up on this?
