Cellphone Torture "No, were not talking about happy slapping were talking about actual cellphones being tortured in the name of rigorous product testing as set forth by Siemens. To make sure their handsets can withstand the demands of popular SMS messaging, they strap em down on a lab bench and hook them up to these crazy gizmos that depress the keys up to 400,000 times (this guy could have a lucrative career waiting), one of about 20 basic quality assurance tests we were too scared to ask what the other 19 are. They also apparently have some of the more sadistic members of the Siemens staff document the whole works and publish the pics to their website."

I think this is the best friday afternoon off-topic post ever. What do you think?

I recall a recent news article regarding the fastest text messenger person ever. It looks like you found a photo of the culprit. =)

It's got to be a fake image - photoshoped! My brother has a Seimens phone, it's less than a year old, and half the keys have fallen out, and the few that are left just don't work.

Those pics are pretty cool, especially the jeans test. Too bad whoever made the screen for my SP3i didn't do some version of the jeans test. If they had they would have noticed all of the dust from the pockets ends up under the screen. Looks great in sunlight!
