Default Oregon Wants To Allow Cities to Tax Your Cell Phone

http://cellphones.about.com/b/a/165075.htm

"A proposed law in the state of Oregon would allow municipalities to tax your cell phone use as if it was a utility. According to the CTIA wireless association, this could amount to about $2.50 more each month. The CTIA sent letters to the state's lawmakers, urging them to defeat the bill, arguing that it would penalize those who have opted for wireless service."

Does this surprise anyone? What surprises me is that it took so long. Why get efficient when you can just steal more money from people to make up for screw ups. Let's hope this goes down in flames.
