Sprint, Fuji Introduce Camera-Phone Prints
"Photos snapped with camera phones don't have to stop at the Internet anymore. Sprint Corp. and Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. on Wednesday launched a service that allows Sprint PCS customers to have their camera phone snapshots printed at local photo shops. Customers who use the service send the photos from their phones to an online photo album, search for the closest photo shop and order a print online."
I wonder how much of a need there is for this service. After all, the current batch of camera-phones on the market, don't produce the nicest of pictures. I have yet to see a picture that was taken by a camera-phone that I would like to have a 4x6 copy of. It's nice to see this kind of tech available for when camera-phones get to the level of quality where you might want to print them. Until then, I think Fuji and Sprint are not going to see much in the way of revenue from this venture.
