The interruption is a side effect of technology Verizon uses to tell police and other emergency personnel a caller's location so that help can be dispatched as soon as possible, according to Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson, who said the company is fixing the problem." The problem could produce as many as sixteen two-second interruptions at the beginning of the call. This appears to be an issue with just the Qualcomm mobile phones. If you are calling 911 and happen to experience this, don't worry your call is still connected.
