Default The Future Is Bright For Open OSs

http://www.mb.com.ph/INFO200405038640.html

Last week we told you about market forecasts predicting Symbian will be the market leader until 2010, and this week we bring market forecasts predicting open OSs will account for 89 million units by 2008.

Quote: Shipments of devices powered by third party open OSs will grow from 9.8 million units in 2003 to reach over 89 million units in 2008.

That's a growth rate of 808% for Open OSs. Over the same amount of time they predict proprietary OSs will grow by 514%(from 102 Million to 627 Million Units). Take from this what you want. I think we can all agree that nobody can accurately predict the future.
