I've got a core set of apps that I run, and they run (mostly) on Windows or OS X, so I look first at hardware features (and cost). I love my MacBook Air, but hate the lack of backlit keyboard. I find that the differences are pretty minimal between OSes, so I can hop back and forth pretty easily. I'm in the "use the right tool for the job" camp.
