I wonder if the G-Slate is going to be Google's developer tablet. I'm holding out for the Nexus Tablet. My Nexus One has spoiled me with updates.

Anyone heard anything?

I agree about not buying from a carrier. Whatever I buy will be a wifi only tablet.

From what I can tell the Xoom is the "Nexus Tablet". it was the first device to launch with 3.0 and is the device they handed out and GDC to developers and I imagine folks at google IO will get one too.

It is stock Honeycomb and easily rootable/flashable. I am planning on getting the wifi only version when it is released.
At least I think. The new galaxy tab looks nice too. But I really think the Motorola Xoom will get the updates first since it is the unofficial/official dev tablet.

I thought that too, but the original Droid came out with stock android. Then a few months later the Nexus One was announced. It took almost a year for it to get a later version of android though.

I'd love an official one. Though I'm not sure I can see Google doing that with a tablet. I hope they do though and before I buy a xoom.
