I opted for a 2 year subscription for the Crashplan+ Family Unlimited.
I figured, why add the complexity of having to figure out and maintain backup synchronization.
I'll just install it on all applicable computers. I installed it on my Mom's and My computer. For my computer I did just what Jason suggested. I unchecked a fairly large folder that I felt was "less" critical. So far I'm at 12.9 days remaining.
Once that is done I'll setup my wife's and daughter's. Their data is significantly smaller. I do have them both backed up to the WHS.
I like the fact that I get periodic emails on backup status, although I wish they had an Android App. Then I could monitor it on my phone.

Do you use Twitter? They have an option to update you via a Twitter direct message. Then you could check that on your phone.

Yeaahhh.... I'm sure they would love for everyone to know that I'm a Crashplan subscriber.

Methinks you do not know how Twitter works. In the Crashplan software client, you authorize it to send you a direct message. Then it shows up in any Twitter client as a message that only you can see...not in your public stream. No privacy issues, or promotional issues, etc. Really nice.

You're right about me not knowing....
I suppose it would give me an excuse to install the Twitter app on my phone.
