1. That's true, but that doesn't have to stay this way. Ambarella has a SOC design that allows for just that. Let's see if anyone uses that, or a similar product.
2. The Samsung's a half solution. So is the Olympus, but I think I prefer that implementation. Of course it would be nice if there's something that'd fully integrate. It still might come out this year.
3. It's mostly for live view cameras. DSLRs, not so much.
5. 14/2.8s are big, have an exposed front element that precludes the use of filters, and don't go very wide on APS-sized sensors. My preference is at 10mm or wider on Four Thirds, and 12mm or wider on APS-sized sensors.
