The keyboard is one WP7 feature that is a near direct "inspiration" from the iPhone, which also lacks arrow keys. I guess Apple decided that you'd move your cursor with your finger and MS followed suit. I've gotten used to it after just over a year of iPhone use, but I understand your point.
So do the numbers just glow when you press them during password entry, or do the keyboard-style fly-outs occur? I didn't look all that closely at the password entry process since it seemed routine and I usually turn off passwords when I'm reviewing so that I don't have to enter the password dozens of times while writing the review.
