from the same source
But just the same, Microsoft still leads in profit - $5.41 billion versus $4.31 billion
So what's really important? Not from a fanboy, MS or Apple perspective. How much you sell retail? How many items you sell? How many people you can get to stuff polls? Who has the cleverest statisticians?
Both companies have great products. One is predominantly software, the other hardware. They challenge each other and they both really believe they are doing what they think is good for the customer (and the board of directors and investors/stock holders). Both employ a heck of a lot of folks, directly and indirectly. If the Xbox or iPhone failed and disappeared that would affect more people than just those whose checks are signed by MS and Apple.
So these are interesting nuggets, but they certainly don't mean anyone is going to pack up their tents and go home., and I'm glad it doesn't.
