I had this issue, the fix for me was to disable. "Launch Folder Windows in A Seperate Process" in the folder options
Hmm. Interesting - though by default Windows 7 has this disabled, so do you mean "enable" it? I did that and it seems to have improved things...but only long-term use will tell the tale.
