I'd say, having used both, that the learning curve from Standard => Pro is far greater than vice-versa, and I agree with Rocco: Standard has a lot of intuitive UI touches that simply don't exist on Pro and that make Standard a far better phone platform than Pro. Palm is one of the few Pro-platform companies that has recognized this and tweaked the OS accordingly; that was the closest "hybrid" I found, but it is still relatively clumsy.
Rocco: just be glad you didn't use WM2003PE or earlier "Pro" platforms heavily. They were far clumsier for one-hand operation than WM5/6/6.1.
