Thanks for your great report! Am in LV right now and must say this year was perhaps one of the most impressive demos for integration and seamless ability to use your content via MS products. Was an early adopter to the AutoPC (and WinCE, etc). AutoPC was many years ahead of the curve with GPS, wireless address book sync, cell phone integration, voice recognition... and sync should bring that type of platform to higher levels.
The media extenders will really interest the readership of my site for sure, and am glad that MS still keeps an eye at quality not just video, but also audio fidelity (where the new iPods are sorely lacking). Will be visiting MS' LVCC booth during the show and obviously need to talk with them. It is great to see that MS' forward-thinking from years ago is finally coming to light as hardware advances is now allowing software to operate smoothly (something that the AutoPC, while great, was let down due to hardware's lack of speed and ability at that time).
Hopefully with HD TV via IPTV sent to Vista, MS will continue the role and offer higher resolution lossless audio versus iTunes 128/256 kbs content.
If there is someone here within the 'inner sanctum' who can put me more directly in contact with an MS representative concerning consumer media please PM me so we can schedule a meeting.
