Do this:

go to www.dpreview.com

click on buying guide...side-by-side and choose those cameras
(ill save you the effort) What you will see: they are VERY similar

Both cameras are praised by users on that side

one big difference:

The canon uses the cheaper CF cards while the pentax has 11mb of internal memory and uses the more expensive and smaller SD cards.

Find both cameras at your local bestbuy/circuit city/wolf camera/etc and play with them..which ever one FEELS better is the one you should go for
