Verizon to Launch Moto Q9m This Week
"You want it, we got it. Following the lead of the recent spate of Verizon releases, we’ve got a bit more in depth information on one of the carrier’s most hotly anticipated fall drops. The Motorola Q9m is the successor to the "mighty" Q, and looks to be an improvement in just about every way. Verizon seems to really be pushing this as a V-Cast/music centric device (hence the "m" in the model number). What will it all cost, you ask? $349.99 on a two year contract, $399.99 on a 1 year contract, and $469.99 outright. These numbers are before a $50 mail in rebate, so you can have a new Q9m in your hands for around $300. Not too bad. The box will include the handset, a 128 MB miniSD card preloaded with a phone tutorial and some exclusive Fergie content, a wall charger, phone sleeve, data cable, manual, and more."
So, the Q9m - a "multimedia" Smartphone is going to ship with a whopping 128MB MicroSD card. Wow, that's really generous. I looked around for the price of a 128, but could find it. However, you can pick up a 256MB for just 6.95 at our affiliate store. So you spend $300 or so on a new multimedia smartphone and get a free MicroSD card valued at about $3. Nice. Anyway, the will support MicroSD up to 4GB, so you can toss the freebie card in the trash or use it to prop up a table leg or something. Expect to see the Q9m in the B2B channel on Wednesday August 22nd (Yes, that just a couple days from now) and in the retail channel a week later on Wednesday August 29th. There's a lot more slides and details over at BGR. So, who has their pennies rolled and ready for the latest offering from Moto? I'm really liking the red detailing on it.
