Oh dear! But wait, I'm an AT&T customer! And I have an iPad! Should I be worried? And what exactly was exposed here?"</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1276187142.usr105634.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apples-worst-security-breach-114000-ipad-owners-exposed-2010-6" target="_blank">story appeared yesterday</a>, noting that over 100,000 email addresses were obtained by a group of hackers that exposed a security hole in AT&T, and which could leave them "vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking." The exposure of the ICC-ID associated with each email poses minimal, if any, risk from what I've read, so the worst that will happen is they will possibly get spammed. The bigger issue is the breach and the exposure, however limited, that AT&T caused for it's customers, and to a lesser extent Apple since it is their device. Just more bad press for AT&T. The most interesting thing about the story was the way it was written. The writer*seemed pretty eager to throw the blame on Apple, when in fact it was AT&T that had the leak. You could almost say Ryan Tate was bitter, I wonder why?*</p>

I think it's creepy that a company calls themselves Goatse Security. Just that word creeps me out to no end.

See, now you are perpetuating the mis-information. 'Ipad Security Breach' indeed. It was an AT&T security breach, not iPad, not the iPhone/iPad OS, not even Apple. Not that Apple is a fortress, but this wasn't their problem. I know that is covered in the text, but that sure isn't what the headline says.:(

Oh, I wouldn't say I'm "perpetuating the misinformation" since it happened to iPad owners. "AT&T Security Breach" doesn't really let you know what was affected like "iPad Security Breach" does, IMO.
