Well, luckily Wired has the answer with this article that does indeed compare the two. The big difference, obviously, is that the Sprint Evo runs on the 4G network, but with limited availability of the network, it may not be that much of an advantage. The comparison chart is handy though, so hopefully it will at least put this in perspective if you are also considering switching.&nbsp;</p>

The putrid battery life of the 4G needs to be addressed to even be a part of the conversation. It's absolutely terrible and as an admitted Android fan boy said today "Its a deal breaker". The local Sprint store had to shelve their demo unit do to lockups and "weirdness" (Of course it could be just a bad unit)

I would choose the iPhone all the way..... as soon as it will be available SIM free and not crippled by the carriers; The EVO is locked to Sprint.

I'm too heavily invested in Apple (apps, protected content media woth $thousands) to ever consider switching from iPhone.

They both look like good phones. Perhaps it's best to wait a few weeks, to see how early adopters fare with them. There are alternative batteries for the Evo that can provide more capacity. While it's true that it's removable battery at least allows you to swap if you needed to, that's not all that practical. The Evo's back is a pain to open, and it also means managing the charge of both the battery within the phone as well as an external battery at all times, plus, of course, the bother of shutting down the phone, changing the battery, putting everything back together (particularly if you carry the Evo in a case), and starting everything back up again.

I think the real question for me would be the size of the Evo. That thing is huge. Thin, but very wide.

If your friend is thinking about tethering, the Evo has the advantage - truly unlimited, unmetered data, even 3G. If your friend needs to talk and access data at the same time, that would be an issue with a 3G connection on the Evo.

I agree. Since I've made the switch from PC & WindowsMobile to Apple/iPhone I believe I have invested waaaay too much to turn back just yet.

Love and miss the ability to truely TWEAK my phone. Jailbreaking was always unstable or there were too many downsides in my opinion.

But in the end...I really don't have the need for it nor the time to dedicate to customizing my phone.

I'm happy with Apple, the iPhone, and AT&T for now. No reason to jump ship just yet.

Even if the EVO is a better phone, which I don't think it is, I wouldn't switch. The iPhone just has to much polish. Call me shallow but I value form, sometimes over function. ;)
