Could be useful, but cannot recall ever saying "Dang, wish there was a MAGNETIC tripod at hand!"

Joby website states use is for compact cameras - claims up to 11.5oz / 325g weight capacity. That is less than my S3 IS - which is just as well, as also could not see myself WANTING to trust anything larger than a tiny camera to a magnetic grip!

GorillaPods have been around for a while, and a lot of people seem to like them. Took a look at them shortly after buying the S3, but decided upon an UltraPod instead, and have been happy with that....

I really like the Gorillapod products - extremely well-made and well thought-out. I think the magnets are a neat idea, but I'd likely still prefer the strength of the wrap-around legs.
