It automatically uses URLs from the clipboard and once converted, puts them back on the clipboard so you can paste them into your app.

I know a lot of Twitter clients for the Windows Mobile already do this, but some of us prefer to use SMS and PIE for our twitter needs, so this allows us a quick way to shorten URLs before posting. I cannot tell from the site if this works on Standard or not. The screenshot is of a Pro (touch-screen) device. If anyone with a Standard device tries this, let us know how it works.

hmm since it requires net access, it is no different from accessing any multitude of sites that do the same thing, and also doesn't help your SMS'ing

Right, except for the part where when you copy a URL in IE (it assumes you are using IE and not just making up URLs as you go), it automatically pastes it into the app, then when you convert it by pressing a button, it automatically pastes the result back into the clipboard for you.

That is about 10 steps shorter than doing it manually through a multitude of sites which involves more copying/pasting, navigating away from the site you are looking at, finding the URL shortening site you want to use in your favorites, etc.

I am not sure how it doesn't help SMS'ing. Does your phone not allow you to paste into the SMS app?
