Granted, if the items were defective, and it appears they may have been since they are settling the lawsuit, they need to pay the damages. The one in this picture, however, &nbsp;looks like someone did a burn out on it. Sure doesn't look like any kind of fix on the finish would have prevented this damage.&nbsp;</span></em></p>

I had an early Nano and I did put a shield on it after two days - when it was already slightly scratched up. When I bought my new Nano a couple of months ago I had ordered a Zagg Invisishield for it beforehand; I am so happy that I did.

$15 is $15. I never expected to get anything anyway.

I had a 1st gen Nano and it got pretty scratched up just being in my pocket (no keys or metal objects in the pocket). But I knew the plastic facing was total crap, and I didn't really mind. I eventually upgraded to a 2nd gen Nano which has the awesome brushed aluminum case that it pretty much scratch proof.

The funny thing is when iPods first came out, I bought one, kept it in my pocket by itself, went on a 2 week trip, and after I had used it a few times over that period, the screen and face and shiny back was completely scratched, I thought it was total crap, so I returned it and stayed away from iPods for the next few years after.
