Everyone just loves a poll; so, I have to ask. I am waiting for stock to come in on the HTC Touch Cruise... in the meantime I am noticing a LOT of negative feedback from HTC users of the TyTn II and those who have a Touch Cruise. With the recent "No new video drivers for you" statement from HTC which company would you now choose?

I chose the HTC Touch Cruise, and I'm perfectly happy with it.

That's great to hear! I was skeptical due to all the bad publicity surrounding the video drivers.
Have you ever had a VGA device? If so, is the Touch worth the lack of VGA for a qVGA screen?
Thanks!

For those who chose "Neither," which would you suggest?
Thanks!

i-mate has apparently shifted manufacturing back to HTC, so I'm not sure there's much of a distinction.
Personally, I've become very fond of Samsung hardware lately.

I'm in the market now and the money is burning a hole in my pocket :devilboy:. I can't decide on the I-Mate 8150 with its lack of SDHC above 2 Gig or the HTC Touch Cruise with it's lack of VGA. I have not looked at a Samsung, which one would you recommend?
Thanks!

Samsung doesn't really have a high-end GSM PPC phone in the US at the moment. If you're on T-Mobile, you could contemplate the i780. Not VGA, but 320 x 320 and what looks like a very nice design.
Are you sure the 8150 lacks SDHC?

Positive, they are actually making a ROM that is supposed to fix this issue, but those are just words. I need something more defenitive.
Thank you!

i thought i was doing the smart thing by jumping on the htc 6800...however, the reports all around the net are true about the drivers...and NOT just for watching vid or playing games. i have none on my phone and the touch response and window closing and such are real slow. i feel stupid now for buying it and wish i would have went blackberry like my wife did. i didnt know about all the driver stuff til i really started using it for ppc stuff after my 30 return was up.
htc will never get my money again.

Anyone have battery info on the cruise? My friend bought the tytn II and once a few apps installed, battery goes down 1% every few min!
if cruise has the same cpu/etc, same vid driver probs, does it have the samebattery problem?
:(
