The alternatives for a complete, high-end PDA-phone are few and far between, and I know many of you are waiting on the Ultimates as a potential upgrade path. We'll have to see if the Ultimates ultimately ( :devilboy: ) make it to the US - FCC testing isn't proof that iMate are going to offer it there - but you can at least rest assured that even if you import'em, they'll at least be approved for use.

I love the picture showing the VGA out cable :-) Looks like it also has a jack for stereo audio too :-)

From the included pictures I noticed that this device has built-in nVidia GoForce 5500 GPU! That's very nice. But does this mean that all of the Ultimate series' graphics will be powered by nVidia? (even nicer! )

So far as I understand it, they all have the same specs aside from differences in form factor and keyboard. So I'd guess YES...

So it means that also dimensions of the device are confirmed (according to some rumors), of course based on photos. And the same with camera - it seems that it will be 2MP autofocus!!! (which wasn't mantioned before).
And two 'mysterious' chipsets HY5S7B2L (which is 1Gbit = 128MB!)(http://www.hynix.com/datasheet/eng/mobile/details/mobile_15_HY5S7B2LF(P).jsp)

SteveHoward999: Thanks for pointing that out! :)

I'm really excited about the VGA output capabilities of these devices. :)

Reading through the user manual makes me worry about EDGE & HSDPA capability of this unit. There is no mention about EDGE or HSDPA at all.

In the first few pages where there is a list of all icons and their explanations, there are mentions of "G" icon for GPRS and "3G" icon for UMTS, but there is no mention of "E" for EDGE or "H" for HSDPA at all. EDGE & HSDPA are not mentioned any where in the entire user manual.

"Windows Mobile 6" does use "E" for EDGE & "H" for HSDPA doesn't it?

The reason I'm worrying is because the same thing happened to the luxury paperweight called XDA Flame. There is no mention of "E" or "H" in that unit's user manual either. There is no need though because XDA Flame doesn't support EDGE or HSDPA. Maybe the samething is going on with these imate ultimate devices?

It really sucks if in the end, i-mate says ... well... sorry but there is no EDGE or HSDPA capability with these ultimate devices... we already gave you people an FM radio... why are you people still complaining!!!

Anybody having concrete proofs of EDGE & HSDPA capability of these devices? Please don't quote imate website as according to imate website, there is no GPRS capability which contradicts its own user manual.

Thanks.
