I was using Journal Bar but didn't ever use the items it updated beside weather. Also, it had to be installed in Main memory Need weather for at least a couple areas and doesn't use much RAM.

I use PocketWeather by SBSH. It can be installed in main memory, safestore (BIL) or SD card. Check them out at www.sbsh.net

I asked the same question on the following thread:

I use the latest beta version of SBSH's Pocket Weather (installed into safestore), which is about to become a full release. The application is rock solid (as is everything from SBSH). One very nice feature is that it can fit within a custom tab of Pocket Breeze.

I have heard that the developer of Weather Panel has been fairly inactive releasing any updates or enhancement of late. That said, I did not look into it much, and others probably can offer more insight.

I would go with PocketWeather or WeatherPanel.

As others have said, SBSH (PW) has great support and they have just recently updated the program and added some nice features. More are on the way.

I think that WP is still the best one out there for now, with tons of beautiful customization options, but the developer has disappeared from his forums for a few months now. He's disappeared before, only to reappear with a spectacular update, but no one is sure what's going on with the development at this time. If he's still out there working on it, it'll probably be another amazing update. Even if not, his existing app (actually the latest beta of it) is really worth checking out on the Marsware forums.

Good luck!

I also use it and have found that you do not have to register it for it to work... or at least in the version that I have. 0X

WP has the best product and worst support. The beta is perfect so not much need for support, but still.....

Over the past couple of years, I've had cycles with my weather applications.

I started using WeatherPanel (http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/main.htm) - great application that's packed with features, but (and I know this might sound odd) it was a bit too much for me.

So I went over to SBSH PocketWeather (http://www.sbsh.net/products/pocketweather/) - again, a very good application that integrates well with SBSH PocketBreeze (if you happen to use it). The new beta is fun to play with, and I'm sure the release of the next version will be worth a look.

However, I eventually went over to Spb Weather (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/weather/?en) for a couple of reasons. Firstly, as a user of Spb Pocket Plus, Spb Weather can be integrated within the Pocket Plus Today plugin to help save space. Secondly, Spb Weather's easy-to-use interface was of major appeal to me.

That's not to say Spb Weather is the best of them all. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences, so it's worth testing out some of the applications to see which one you prefer. As always, YMMV.

I'm pretty gadget-y, so WeatherPanel with its polished interface and customizability (if that's a word) appealed to me. But I am concerned over the lack of contact from the developer. I would understand if the forums weren't visited that often (assuming he was hard at work over a new version), but support emails go unanswered and registration codes through Handango are not working, and no one is addressing the issue. That really makes me wonder if something happened to the developer, either apathy or something much worse. There was also discussion on the marsware forums regarding the program stopping working after March since one of the things the program does is ping marsware.net before updating (and the marsware.net domain name expires then). Makes me wonder.

Given that, I'd probably recommend taking a look at PocketWeather by SBSH. It's getting better, has a lot of little things (radar images, earthquakes, etc.) that are kind of fun to play with. SPB Weather only had forecasts if I'm not mistaken, and it just wasn't gadget-y enough for me. (It was pretty straight forward and did what it did well, though.)

Now that PocketWeather 1.1 has been released, I think its worth checking out. It's packed with loads of features without feeling too bloated. It's a bargain too. :)

There's more info on the front-page.

How do you do this? I have tried and tried, but cannot figure it out.

To put PocketWeather in PocketBreeze as a custom tab:
Select PBreeze Settings
Select "Tabs Control Settings" from the drop down menu
Tap the "Add Custom" button
Select PocketWeather from the "Plug-in to add:" drop down

I use Spb Weather, as a custom tab in PocketBreeze.

Spb Weather can be configured to pick up data from a number of sources, and I use the BBC data for London, which seems to be more reliable than weather.com

I used to use WeatherPanel, which looked lovely, but the data for the UK was suspect. The SBSH product might be worth a look, but at the moment I am happy...
