Hi there,
I tried this program. It was ok but it is almost 2Mb!!
There are a lot of alternatives which are about 10 or 20 times smaller.

If it's "compatible with Windows Mobile 5", then I take it Win Mobile 5 still minimizes instead of closes when you hit the "close" button? Good to hear Microsoft takes thousands of customer's suggestions into account  I guess the 50k of additional code it would have taken to add an options for users to either minimize or close on exit was beyond their resources. Perhaps they needed to add more "cut and paste" exercises to their startup after hard resets :D

I don't know about Win Mobile 5 support.
But your remark about cut and paste is after a hard reset made me laugh :D LOL

Finally! That's the point. To CHOOSE if you want to minimize or close a program. I like people saying "We want a close button that closes programs, not minimize", but if you can not minimize programs, then we end up at single-tasking (Can i smell a 4-letter word called "P*lm" here?...)

There are other ways to switch programs besides the close button, such as using the start menu, that contains a list of the 5 recently used programs.

Regarding this software, it works very poorly on my loox 720, and I have uninstalled it already.

Yes, but that would still be closing/re-launching.

when does M$ ever listens to its customers? ... which for me, is no surprise at all...

- taking out WiFi from AS 4.0 (inspite of the MVPs speaking out)
- how many iterations of the OS do we need to get PocketWord to be more than just a glorified WordPad?
- ditto for Excel...
- and, yes, that "minimize/close" issue - been there since WinCE 1.2

.....

*sigh*

Yes, but that would still be closing/re-launching.

I do not understand. If you had a "real close button" you could use it to close an app, and if you just wanted to minimize it you could use the start menu to switch to the today screen, or to launch another app. Also using the start menu to switch to an already running program does not actually reload the software or change the state of that software in any way.

That's your experience. Most people won't bother to go to start menu to minimize programs. Trust me, minimizing instread of closing is the best solution so far, the rest problem should be related to memory managerment. MS didn't make mistake this time at all.

I do not agree... Minimize "and" close should be supported. Minimize is not useful to me - I much prefer the app to close... I'll use the start menu again if I want multiple apps open.

Most people don't conciously want to Minimise any application, they want to go from Application A to Application B. They'll probably be happy using the Start menu to launch the new app. If they want to conciously close the current app, then use the "X" button. The current method of minising is good in theory, but requires people to regularly go into Settings-Momery - Close Programs or soft-reset - neither of which are as intuitive as launching using the Start menu.

I think I found a bug in the InClose Mobile utility. When I pull up the Phone application and click on “Call History”, I can not “OK” out of Call History. See screenshot below.

When I turn off InClose (remove from startup) and reboot the device, this problem doesn’t occur.

Environment:

OS: Windows Mobile 5.0
Hardware: HTC Universal (specifically, the “i-mate JASJAR”)
Orientation: Happens in both landscape and portrait mode
InClose: (there is no apparent method to display the version number, however, I downloaded it last week)

Clicking the OK button does nothing. I can click and hold, then the InClose menu appears, and I can kill the Phone application, but that is not what I want to do—I want to close the “Call History” application, not the Phone.
