Ohhhhhh.....feelin' the warm and fuzzies :ppclove: Please hurry to the U.S. little device!
The landscape modes indicates it runs WM2003 SE, which I can't say I already knew or not. Regardless, that's great.

It's in Chinese. Basiclly, the guy got this device just one or two days, he claims that the device is still up and running w/o freeze.
He doesn't state it 2003 SE or not.
Anyway, I don't see much useful information there but good pics.
I hope someone can compare this to iMate Jam. (Only Jam is lacking WiFi.)

I must say this is the sweetest looking phoneediton device so far. Can someone offer a translation?

Looks like the much-anticipated BenQ P50 is slowly making its way to Korean markets. Mobile01.com has some sweet pictures of this really small Treo-like device.
This a Taiwan web site. NOT Korean.
In brief
Picture 1: Button for recording and volume adjust.
Picture 2: button for taking photos. mini USB port and ear phone (covered)
Picture 3: Camera lens and speaker located on the back. Battery with white cover.
Picture 4: Power jack and slot for SD.
Picture 5: 1.3 M camera. The quality of the speaker output is good. Can take mpeg4 and QCIF format.
Picture 6: power and infrared.
Picture 7: charging....
Picture 8: Default today screen. 2.8 in screen is beautiful.
Picture 9: CPU is PXA270
Picture 10: You can edit photos after taking it.
Picture 11: Wi-Fi
Picture 12: Landscape mode. Either right hand or left hand is available.
Picture 13: Can transmit file via infrared.
Picture 14: Compared with sx230, P50 is thinner and feel more like a cell phone.
Picture 15: exchange a battery with black cover.
Picture 16: Need to install driver in order to take advantage of mini USB port.
Picture 17: Orange: power charging. Green: Wi-Fi. Blue: Blue tooth.

This device is looking better and better.... a true Treo competitor.

This a Taiwan web site. NOT Korean.
 I'm such an idiot. Sorry, I've had a really long day. Would make sense, too, since BenQ is a Taiwanese company. Sigh. I've posted a link to a Chinese translation, which reads pretty well.

Mmm Spec wise it really looks good. This is a better device than the blue angel, on the surface at least. I wish is was coming to the UK.

Just to help with the translation, you want to select Chinese(Traditional) not Simplified. Taiwan uses Traditional, not simplified. You'll get a MUCH better translation that way.

dang flabbit! I've been hankering for an all in one device. For me, it seems to have come down to this or the IPAQ. And this seems smaller than the IPAQ and it has BT, which I need more than WiFi.
If this ever comes to America, it's sure to be a Treo killer! :)
If that comes to the US and is the size of the Treo 600, look out. I have used Windows CE devices since the Velo 1 and switched to the Treo 600 in December (for the form factor NOT the OS). I think I have owned and used the Treo 600 exclusively longer than any other device. This would bring me back.

That's exactly what I did, and it forgets for some reason...? I'll point this out in my post.

A little bit off topic:
A small crash course in Oriental languages (I know nothing about Oriental languages except this):
1) if it looks complicated like this 機, chances are it is Chinese (probably Traditional, coz it doesn't look simplified to me ) This 中 is a typical Chinese character, easy to identify for our Western eyes :D
2) Korean characters are much simpler and look more like these 오 안 의 닝 한 의 운 만 펌 웨 어업 용 후 etc. a lot of Korean characters have circles/ovals/squares like all these have
3) if you see this character の then this is Japanese; every sentence or paragraph has a few of them :D
Back to topic, I really like this Benq a lot and it will give the Treo a run for its money; it would be an excellent companion to an OQO for example :devilboy:; I was considering the Moto MPx, this might be an alternative, tho the MPx seems more complete (BT, WIFI, SD, etc.)

My Chinese is fairly terrible, and since this is traditional.. X_X
Looks like there'll be a review on it soon.. no mention of the battery used.

err, this has BT, WiFi, SD too..

Pretty cool. As a Korean, I've never realized we use so many circles/ovals/squares in our characters. FWIW, "오 안 의 닝 한 의 운 만 펌 웨 어업 용 후" doesn't mean anything though "펌 웨 어업" part means "firmware upgrade".

Now to find someone who sells this in Australia or can import.
Now that is a sweet device!

He doesn't state it 2003 SE or not.
Although he did not state it explicitly, the pictures have already suggested that this device runs on WM2003SE PE. :)

Anything on the release date? My chinese is not even terrible hehe (think bellow elementary level for writting and reading--should've paid more attention in school!!!) I think this will be great competition for the iMATE Jam and the Treo 650 (as these seem to be in the same size range) but of course this has BT and WiFi; the Treo and JAM have BT only.

One thing that has me worried about this device is the memory card slot being on the bottom and no cover for it. Those people who own a Treo 600 can attest to the SD card being bumped accidentally and hanging out of the top of the phone.
Hopefully BenQ will provide some type of "stopper" for the Mem slot.

I never saw a SD slot cover in any pocket pc or palm.

Look at the memory card REALLY closely in this pic

Yeap, that says smartmedia alright. I don't think I will get this device if it is in fact a smartmedia device. Why did BenQ have to screw this up? Everything else was PERFECT. :([/img]

I believe the Moto MPx has a rubber cover over its SD slot.

SD slots can usually use MMC, not smartmedia.

now that i look at the card again, it looks like it reads Multimedia Card. Also, its seems too thick to be smart media. Phew. I'm excited again!

I guessed it doesn't mean anything, since I picked up only the signs that reflected my observation. it's like picking PRB to show how close their graphical construction is in that they all have a vertical bar on the left and a rounded top. PRB doesn't form a word, at best and possibly an abbreviation :)

NOPE it reads MultiMediaCard, not SmartMediaCard!! The first letter is wide with straight lines like an M and clearly not curved like an S :D
And as we all know by now, SD slots also take MultiMediaCards (aka MMC)

I really can't wait to get my hands on this device. This is the first report I've ever seen of someone having more than just a device shell, but a working demo in their hands, so it seems that development is really progressing. Should start saving my money now I guess. ;)

I don't suppose a great piece of fine electronic equipment like this would be compatible on a Sprint PCS network?
Seems like Sprint has the faster data speeds, yet you can't find anything much to use on it except dumb cell phones and the Treo!!!!!
This makes me mad!

the pics have been taken down because of a request from BenQ... I'm really excited about this device and the i-mate JAM (and I must admit even the Treo650--if only it had wifi). The problem is when will this device come to market? Hopefully it is within this year (I think the i-mate JAM will be available in mid-November; and the Treo650 is also coming soon). BenQ hope you hurry up, or you'll end up missing out on the Christmas Frenzy hehehe! :D

I read elsewhere that it won't be out until Q2 2005 Really? Hmmm that kinda worries me... By Q2 2005 we might already have another new OS for WinMobile... (I'm just speculating but we had pocket pc 2002 then 2003 (then 2003 se) but no 2004... I'm sure there will be a 2005 soon) and the p50 might end up with 'old' OS (i.e. the hp 6315; uses PPC PE 2003fe eventhough se was already available).
