If you've just purchased a Pocket PC, this list could save you hours of searching for software to fit your needs. (Not to mention lots of money) If you're a veteran Pocket PC user and think you've seen and tried it all, don't be so sure until you see this list."<br /><br />I'm not sure if I'm ready to declare this the BEST freeware site, but I did notice some of my favorite titles there. Do you have some freeware favorites you'd like to see on the site?

I can't really comment on the listing since I don't even hunt for freeware, but I like the fact that someone took the time to do this. I also like the clean and aesthetically pleasing look of his site.

Nice job.

Not a bad list. I'd also include the following, which I didn't see any alternatives to on his list...

BetaPlayer (http://beta.topcat.hu/)
UpTime (http://ae.inc.ru)
Launcher (http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html)

I suppose that PocketTV and/or WMP could be considered alternatives to BetaPlayer, but definitely no alternatives to the other 2.

FYI, Picard just released a new version (v0.4) of BetaPlayer yesterday!!

He and I share GSPlayer, icbar, pocketwinc, and textmaker.

However, I would take betaplayer or PocketMVP over PocketTV any day.

Has anyone tried Password Safe as an alternative to Flexwallet, etc.?

I always wish PPCT would do this for software, but not limited to freeware. For example, a single list of the "best" s/w in various categories as determined by a concensus of the contributors.

Yes he has NoteM on the list. A great replacement for the standand audio recorder.

I added this to the site, thought I'd add it here too. Some of my top picks (I'm a major freeware junkie).

One of my absolute favorites is Pocket Theremin ('Clanger') at: http://www.siliconmachines.com/clanger/index.htm. I've used it to create sound effects for a PocketPC game I wrote recently.

Also check out PocketJam (shareware though), which is a Roland 303 clone+. Create techno on your PPC. All considered, I think it's a steal at $20.

Lastly, version 1.0 of apMemo is freeware and is fully functional. Scribble a quick note in your own hand writing without having to deal with SIPs [soft keyboard] or handwriting recognition. Set reminders too! I find it very intuitive. The author has a shareware version 2.0 too.

BTW, I'm not affiliated with either company, just some of my top picks.
