Aluminum case problems?

I have a H1945 that I keep in an aluminum case. It seems sometimes the battery will fully discarge very quickly, or the pda will soft-reboot after being in the case. Has anyone had any strange behaviours from their devices when they are stored in an aluminum case?

my (departed) tungsten t was in a aluminum case. It never had any problems because of it. I plan on getting one for my comming X30

I've had an aluminum case for most of my devices. They never had any problems.

I posted several months ago about magnetic cases (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25279) possibly causing problems, but that didn't seem to be the case.

I doubt very many problems stem from the case. After reading what others had to say about my magnetic case, I learned to end the running programs more often. :roll:

So, I'd keep the aluminum case if I were you. They're really the best protection available! Except this (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/articles.php?action=expand,27765), of course!

Nah, I use my iPAQ 4150 in an aluminum case, and it works like a charm! Never had any battery/strange issues at all.

This wouldn't affect you and your device, but I was just reading this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8909) at XDA-Developers (http://www.xda-developers.com).

Several users were saying that the metal cases reduced signal strength on Phone Edition devices...sometimes as much as 40%. 8O

I know you don't have a Phone Edition currently, but it's good to keep in mind.

I suspect this may be a problem with your device itself. The case on the battery compartment is plastic so I don't think it'd be shorting your battery. But overall, I don't think the aluminium would be doing your iPAQ damage.

I am thinking the case may be pushing a button and turning the device on, or something? I am gonna let it sit outside the case all day and see what happens.
