it continued to do all functons including timer, but it wouldn't tell time or run alarms
even the golf functions worked

the hard-reset fixed everthing (a soft-reset prably wauld have warked but i think only fossil watches have this funtionality)

Interesting. Of course, it's not that surprising. As watches become more and more general computers, their ability to crash also increases. ;)

Someone said "As a system's complexity approaces infinity, its MTBF (mean time between failure) approaches 0."

Sounds about right.. Microsoft, you listening? :D

I used to have to hard reset my Chevrolet Lumina! The computer that controlled fuel mixture and emissions would get monkeyed up and it would run rough and barely idle. I'd have to disconnect and reconnect the battery, start the car and let it idle for three or four minutes while it recalculated everything.

I'd hate to have to do that with a car

We used to joke that it was running NT.

My wife's Nokia 3650 is always crashing. To hard-reset I have to remove the back cover, remove and re-insert the battery and put the back cover again.

The on/off button is just useless.

I;m going to get really worried when w have to hard reset kitchen appliances. Those fridges can be a bitch to setup activesync partnerships with!

Don't get me started on the kettle.

That's what I did to reset the watch!
