Hi Guys,

I'm on the market for my first PocketPC (I've just sold my Sony PalmOS), my budget is limited ($250-260 max). I've researched a bit and narrowed my choices to two Toshiba models, the e350/355 or the newest 405.

I almost hitted the "Buy Now" button for the 405 when I read a post about some battery issues with the 405, a guy that mentioned that he got two different 405's a both had a max of 30 minutes of battery life. That freaked my out 'cause since I'm outside the US, returning the PDA wouldn't be an easy option for me.

None of the reviews I've found about the 405 mentioned battery issues with it, in fact most of the reviews mentioned that the battery life is better than the 350/355.

Any current owner of the 405 out there can give me their impressions about this PDA and about battery life or any other "issues" ???

Is it worth to pay $260 for this PDA?, is there a better option??. The are a few 350/355 left around some web retailers for $200.

And there's still the options of the 1935 or 1945 . Although the processor speed of the former worries me a bit, and the yellow tint issue of the latter I think is pretty dissapointing.

Thanks for your help.

Can't help you with your specific question, but if you do decide the 355 is better, this post may interest you:

Just bought an E405 yesterday, so not sure if I'm the best qualified to answer you. For me it was between the E405 and 1945. In the end I liked the display better on E405 and decided that having BT wasn't all that important afterall. The display on the E405 is gorgeous. It's speedy and handles movies just fine. I'm not a gamer so I can't comment on game performance. It has the same amount of RAM and a SDIO Now slot for adding a SD wi-fi card or other SD based peripherals. Personally I think the display on the E405 is superior to the 1945. It also has built-in voice commands and a standard headphone jack unlike the 1945 that uses a smaller non standard size. The biggest downside to this unit is the battery is not user replaceable. In the 1945 it is. Apps open quickly (you can overclock this device if you wish, but you can't do that with the 1945). I should also mention that the E405 is by far the thinnest PPC out there and has a jog wheel on the side. Probably not the kind of answers you were looking for but like I said I just got the unit yesterday :D Good luck with your decision. I should also mention that this was a return unit that was discounted down to $229 from the normal $259 at Best Buy 8O
