Ok I had a multitude of questions and I thought I would just throw em out in one big post. (running ipaq 5555)

1. I tried to go to my schools site to check email but it wouldn't let me (no java). Im guessing that this is due to wmobile 2003 and that it no support the java???

2. www.greenlightwireless.net...I thought I saw a promo for skweezer here or elsewhere...now I go to the site and it appears dead all of a sudden? Anyone know about this? Their price seemed reasonable only 10$ per year. Any alternatives???

3. check emails on ppc....Right now I am running outlook express...I am guessing I need to migrate over to regular outlook to do this?

4. wireless performance...I have to say that for finally getting around to setting it up I am very impressed with both the battery life AND speed of page loads (most pages load very fast!) However I also have everything turned off (no wep, 802.1X nothing)...anyone care to share configuration hints that lock down security while not slowing performance tremendously?

ps sorry if a few of these questions are dupes but I am tired as it has taken me a while to work thru some of the wireless issues to get it running!

I moved this to the Wireless forum, as most of these questions aren't ipaq-specific.

Not built-in. It's possible the the iPAQ comes with Jeode on one of the CDs bundled (older iPAQs did, but I haven't worked with a 5555).

Brad made a frontpage post on it the other day. It does sound quite reasonable. The site does appear to be down right now.

Only if you want to support the ActiveSyncing of emails. If you want to check wirelessly, you can use Inbox on the Pocket PC independent of which desktop client you use.

Have you tried WEP? It shouldn't alter performance drastically. While 802.1x is much better security, it is hard to set up unless you have enterprise Windows server-level or similar experience...

Janak,
thanks for reply, I'll have to fiddle around with the jeode application see how it works.

the skweezer site is back up they were busy upgrading servers.

I'll have to fiddle with active sync some more also.

I'll probably go with wep its the easiest to configure..better than nothing.
