I have a desktop pc sitting under my desk with no monitor. Before i ditch out some $$$ to get an LCD I would like to know if it is possible to output the VGA from the desktop and feed it into the Video-In on my laptop.

What laptop has a video input? Most laptops have a VGA output, some have S-Video output and some have FireWire, but I haven't seen any with a VGA input. Are you talking about a FireWire port?

I had an old Gateway laptop that would do this. Tried it recently (to set up a server) but it didn't want to work. I'm sure it used to, though. :?

What's stopping you trying this? I'd have thought that would be quicker than asking here and waiting for a reply.

I have an S-Video Port (one video in and another video out) on my Gateway Solo 9300 and I do not know what sort of cable I can get. I do not think the monitor port (on the laptop) will accept an input from the desktop pc.
