Looks neat. I have been using WorldMate by MobiMate for similar capability. Seems mcTraveller does more and is cheaper. The only thing it seems that WorldMate might have an advantage on is that it updates currency exchange rates when you sync. mcTraveller doesn't say it does that. Checking currency rates and updating them yourself can be cumbersome.

It seems develepors are trying to squeeze the last out of very worn out concepts rather than think of anything new.

I would consider it worthwhile if they improve on what others have done. I don't really see how this behavior makes them any different from any other vendors competing on any other line of products out on the market.

Well let's see, I see one comment from an MS-MVP - Sven (who compared it favorably to WorldMate, which is a popular program) and another from community moderator Steven Cedrone. Not to mention that the only reason I saw this thread is because someone was asking for good weather applets in another thread and PPCT admin Brad Adrian decided to link them to this thread (which he started in the first place). Those are comments from three individuals who weren't exactly born yesterday when it comes to PPC software and they all saw something favorable in this product.

However, to get technical, what I took exception to was the comment that it's "sad" for a company to take ideas that already exist, which is something nearly every product/vendor does to a certain degree. Nearly all the features we see in this product do exist elsewhere, but they are scattered across multiple packages, and in the case where there is another similar product (WorldMate), it does at least appear that this product has (in the opinion of one) a better UI at a cheaper price.
