iTunes takes a long time to start

I love my iTunes, and have been using it almost exclusively for a few months. However, I just can't get over the fact that it takes so long to start up.

A little fun with my P4 @ 2.6 GHz and a stopwatch:
Windows Media player 9 in 0.92 seconds.
Adobe Audition in 2.94 seconds.
Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.1 in 16.46 seconds.
AND...
Apple iTunes 4.5 in 11.56 seconds.

Is everyone else having this huge lag? Does eye-candy take priority over functionality now? :roll:

On my G4 @ 867MHz
Windows Media Player 7 seconds
iTunes 5 seconds

I have a feeling that the different software makes are lagging their software so people switch to their OS.

Joking aside, I do feel like the windows version of iTunes is really slow to load. Maybe with the next revisions it will become faster.

For me 4.6 seems to load faster, but I have no proof. Don't want to measure it for fear it isn't and then it seems slow again. 8)
