Hi there,

I'm pretty new to Digital Video but I've been having great fun with my Sony Camcorder, making movies and burning VCD's.

I've just been using Windows Movie Maker which I appreciate is pretty basic (but dead easy!) and I think it's time for me to upgrade to something more powerful as I've just bought a DVD burner.

DVD menu's are something I'm interested in and I'm interested as to what software people are using.

Would you recommend a stand-alone solution for producing menu's (does such a thng exist?) or would the integrated capabilities of something like Pinnacle be sufficient?

I've had a trawl round the web but I'm finding it difficult to assess the capabilities of various bits of software on this one feature.

TIA!

Iain.

Personally speaking, I would go with anything that Ulead makes. I've used their DVD Movie Factory, both version 2 and 3. Making a DVD is dead easy. I bought a Canon ZR60 last Thanksgiving, and I've made nothing but great discs. Making the menu's is easy, and it's actually really fun. It's actually really cheap to buy the basic version of DVD Movie Factory 3. If you have the cash to burn, you can try DVD Workshop. Version 2 is the newest one, and has just recently been released. It gives you more control over the menu's, but it also costs around USD$450.
