My old Smart Phone (Motorola Mpx220) hav Voice Command built in, and oh, was it sweet. It was without a doubt the best voice recognition system I have used.

Now I have the new Cingular 3125, also the I-mate Flip, he Qtec 8500, and th HTC Star100 os "Star Trec" phone.

fguess what? Voice Comand has been deleted from the OS, and is not available through Handango, but.... Guess what? It is not compatible with the Cingular 3125...

Just offering a warning... MANY software choices are not compatible with the new Cingular 3125... Maybe it is jus too new??? Hard to believe that, becasue the Qtec 8500 has been out for many months...

I think the reference is to the Pocket PC version, which some have been able to get to work on Smartphones.

There is no Smartphone version of Voice Command. I wish Microsoft would get off their ass and make a Smartphone version of this. :(

Right. We have had posts here of people saying they got it to work on their Smartphones. I have never tried it myself.

I just got VoiceCommand. The documentation says it was only good for WM2003. I have a PPC phone with WM5. But I tried to load it anyways. I did have trouble at first. I got a couple of different cannot load messages (can't remember exactly what they said). I was able to get it to load my removing the memory card first. Works ok now.
Hope this helps someone... Give it a try without any memory cards.

You mean you installed it in main memory, but if you insert a memory card it won't work?

Folks, if you have ever used Microsoft's Voice Command, it is WAY better than any of the Voice "tagging" methods used by other systems. You do not have to pre-record any voice tags at all. It simply listens to your voice & figures it out on it's own.

Go to Microsoft's website & look up Voice Command. Here's the URL:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/voicecommand/sysreq.mspx

It specifically states that it works with "Pocket PC Phone Edition"

I bought it from Handango, but my new HTC Star Tec would not allow it to be loaded. Does anyone know a back door approach to loading it?

I'll second that. It really worked well on my former Pocket PC Phone 8125. I have not tried it on a Smartphone. There are reports of people doing this floating around.

Who is telling lies? There is no Voice Command for Smartphone. Microsoft has not released it. That's what we've been saying.

Ah, wait. You're talking about illegal software - hacked and stolen. Great. That still falls under no Voice Command for Smartphone from Microsoft. If they haven't released it, but you've managed to steal yourself a copy you can't go around saying it exists. Because it doesn't unless you want to break the law and steal something that hasn't been released and you haven't paid for.

Using card was ok after installation. Just would not install under WM5 and with the memory card installed too. I mean I almost was going to sent it back. But it worked the first time with the card out, after several failed installs with the card in. Go figure :? :?:

I bypassed the install routine. Saved the .cab file to my phone, then executed the cab file. Installation still failed. The .CAB file in version being sold by Microsoft currently (version 1.5) seems to be for the ARM processor. The new HTC has an OMAP processor...

If anyone has been able to find a version of Voice Command that is fgor an OMAP processor that might work... Pleas let me know if you do...
