View Full Version : Cingular SMT5600, Need help using with Lotus Notes.

01-23-2006, 11:48 PM
I recently purchased an SMT5600 from Cingular, solely for use with my work email. We are a Lotus Notes shop. The brochure says this will work with Lotus Domino, but it appears I am missing some software? What are my options? Thanks for the help.

We use Lotus at work and I sync my pocket PC to it using a third party software called Pylon Anywhere (or Pylon Pro, can't remember)
Click here for ianywhere link (www.ianywhere.com). I am not sure if it is compatabile with Smartphones. My company provides employees with a license to use Pylon, I plan on asking the folks who administer the software if it is compatible with the SMT-5600.

Kris,
On the first 2 links you provided in the post above this, the SMT-5600 is not listed as a compatible device:

From the first link (after clicking the "learn more" link at the bottom of it:
Click on the Registration button and follow the instructions to register for the service and download the Xpress Mail Personal Edition desktop software and Xpress Mail Client for your palmOne Treo 650, Treo 600, or Motorola MPx200 Smarthphone.

From the second link:
Devices Supported:
PDA
palmOne - Treo 650
palmOne - Treo 600
Motorola MPx220
Siemens SX66

But, isn't the MPx200/220 a WM2K3SE Smartphone?

The third link does list the SMT-5600 as being compatible :?

Hmm, I never looked at the compatibility list.

I was able to use the i-mate SP3i; loaded up the Cingular Xpress Mail client on it. ;-)

Since the MPx220 is on the list, it means they do have the client for WM2003SE device. SMT5600 is a WM2003SE device. Plus the SP3i that I used to use is also WM2003SE device.

Once you sign up for the Xpress mail, you will prompted to select the device for downloading the CAB file (installer), just select the MPx220. It will work with the SMT5600, that is was I did for my SP3i. ;-)

Thank you sir.
I noticed you said it was "free for subscribers". What constitutes a subscriber? I assume it means someone with a Cingular phone/account.

Thanks,
~Rob

I meant to say Cingular customers. But I am not sure if they are enforcing the phone number check.
