View Full Version : How to get email on SMT5600?

Hi, I cant seem to figure out how to set up my email on my SMT5600 using Cingular.

I have a .mac email account.

I tried the wizard in IE that says it will set your email up for you. At the end it says it will send you a text message with the settings and I never get the text.

Anyone know how I can configure this?

Also if I get unlimited data plan, does that include using IE unlimited?

What's a .mac account?

Also, what feature in IE are you talking about? I was unaware that IE had any automatic email wizard.

Yes except the mobile version from my phone.

Is there another way to set up email?

Have you tried it from a regular desktop PC? I mean using this web site from your PC?

If it didn't work. Then you need to manually set it up using the Messaging app's wizard.

Click Start->Messaging->select Text Messages->right button click Menu->Options->Account Setup->right button click Menu->New.

And follow the prompts. Hope this helps. :-)

Hello,
I too am having trouble with my Hotmail, Yahoo, and company (not outlook) email.

I have no idea how to get the information they are asking for to setup these accounts on my SMT5600

Please help! I have no idea what I'm doing! :?: :?:

Web-based email is not supported without a 3rd party tool. Look around for Pocket MSN that should allow you to get Hotmail, but it's not free.

As for your work account, you'll need to get your email settings POP or IMAP, user name, password, mail servers, etc...

That's the one I use. Works great.
