According to the CTIA wireless association, this could amount to about $2.50 more each month. The CTIA sent letters to the state's lawmakers, urging them to defeat the bill, arguing that it would penalize those who have opted for wireless service."</i><br /><br />Does this surprise anyone? What surprises me is that it took so long. Why get efficient when you can just steal more money from people to make up for screw ups. Let's hope this goes down in flames.

Not even sure where I read it or the actual details, but the gist is that a famous inventor/scientist (Faraday I believe) was demonstrating to a government official that he could generate a current by waving a wire by a magnet. The official remarked, "That's nice, but what good is it?" To which Faraday remarked, "Sir, one day you will be able to tax it."
